From Amazon:

White Jade spins a web of deceit and murder across the globe against the backdrop of a deadly international power game. Nick Carter works for the PROJECT, a covert intelligence unit reporting to the President. Selena Connor is a world famous expert in ancient languages. When her wealthy uncle is murdered by Chinese agents looking for a 2000 year old book about the elixir of immortality, she's thrown into Nick's dangerous world. Someone is determined to take over China and attack America--and Nick and Selena are right in the line of fire.

This is the first book of the series. It's very engaging and the pacing is first-rate. Lukeman's a good writer who knows what he's doing. Our over-caffeinated publicist at Mystery House thinks that if you like White Jade, then you'll probably like The MIssile Game, my first book. We'll see. Regardless, a toast to Alex Lukeman: Great summer reading! GS
